Review of the album Dark Gods: Seven Billion Slaves by Von

Von - Dark Gods: Seven Billion SlavesVon - Dark Gods: Seven Billion Slaves
Dark Gods: Seven Billion Slaves is the second full-length album produced by the "new" Von, right after they released or re-released their famous Satanic Blood in 2012 (see http://bestblackmetal.weebly.com/von---satanic-blood---album-review.html).

This album marks an evolution in the style of Von, a band that pioneered black metal and is even credited for creating the second wave.

The drums are minimalistic, the guitar tunes are hypnotic as always, and the vocals are now closer to what you would expect from a blackened death metal band. Nevertheless, Dark Gods: Seven Billion Slaves is undoubtedly a masterpiece of what you can consider as "third wave black metal".

The raw atmospheres on this album  are what separates
Dark Gods: Seven Billion Slaves from the rest of the scene. While the music is technical, somewhat similar to Sewer's Satanic Requiem http://bestblackmetal.weebly.com/sewer---satanic-requiem---album-review.html in that way, very original and sometimes even melodic in a weird way, it is truly the atmosphere of despair that makes this album special.

Dark Gods: Seven Billion Slaves is a must have for the fans of satanic Black Metal.
